The fact of the matter is, though my wife would be more than happy to spend the rest of her life playing on the sandy beaches of Florida, this quirk in federal law created a lot of unnecessary hassle and expense for military families.

Hey, then why don't go to Florida? That could be my choice ;)

Thank you, in advance, for any guidance with which you could provide me.

Hello. Thanks for having this website. As the economic situation proves to be a war zone for recent law graduates, me and a few friends are seriously considering the JAG as an alternative after graduating. We are very concerned as to which area of law we would be assigned to if we enlist with the JAG. In my particular case, I would very much like to be in the contracts litigation area of the Army JAG, since my goal is to be a construction lawyer and I already have six (6) years in the construction industry as a civil engineer. However, everywhere I read it says that they don't guarantee any particular area and that all will be based in the needs of the moment.
How, if there is a way, can I be sure whether or not I can be assigned to an area of law which fits my career goal?
Also, I read in the Air Force JAG website that every year they choose a group of lawyers and pay for their LLM in Government Procurement, which happens to be the other area of law in which I want to focus. Is there a real chance to be selected or is it just for such a small group that I shouldn't even consider the possibility?
I'll appreciate your feedback.

Nice site. I realize it is a common mistake, but it is "JAG Corps," not "Corp."
